DAY 02: CORTO MALTES

We wake up at 5:30 a.m. to have a hot coffee or tea before heading out to Lake Sandoval. The guide will give you a bag with breakfast that will be consumed during the excursion to Lake Sandoval. Lake Sandoval 06:00 a.m. After sailing for about 20 minutes along the Madre de Dios River, you will arrive at the pier at Lake Sandoval. With a 3km trek through the lush vegetation of the tropical forest, you will enter the territory of the Tambopata National Reserve. You will be able to admire gigantic trees, snakes, monkeys (wasitas, cotomonos or capuchins), birds (highlighting the shanshos, kingfishers and anhingas). Once at Lake Sandoval, you will sail in small rowboats in search of giant otters. You will also be able to observe a great variety of animals such as reptiles, mammals and birds in their natural state. When the guide finds a suitable place and while you observe nature at its best, you can have breakfast. On the way back, you will need to have all your belongings and begin the walk back to the pier at Lake Sandoval.

OPTIONAL

Monkey Island: This activity will be carried out depending on the season and at the guide's discretion. There are times during the season when flooding makes it practically impossible to enter and walk around the island. On the other hand, there are times during the season when it is necessary to leave the monkeys without interruption from tourists to help with their reproduction and their life in the wild. These animals are already accustomed to tourists and can get very close to people, so you must always follow the guide's instructions. 1:30 p.m. You will return to the lodge for lunch. 3:30 p.m. You will visit one of the two towers that Corto Maltes Amazonía has in its facilities. One is 20 meters high and the other 42 meters high. Both are designed for bird watching and other species from above and you can also enjoy a beautiful sunset (the guide will coordinate which one to visit depending on the passengers' preference). Visit to a chestnut camp. The Brazil nut (or Brazil nut, as it is known worldwide) is another of the most important economic activities in the Madre de Dios region.

Free time: Free time to enjoy the pool or a massage, drink something refreshing in our bar or visit our boutique. 20:00h: Dinner Accommodation in Corto Maltes.

DAY 03: CORTO MALTES

This place belongs to a typical rural family of this area, who carefully maintain with no chemicals some native plants that grow naturally and then take them to the main market in Puerto Maldonado for consumption. They will show you how they use natural products to make tools, their homes, clothes and ornaments, all of which are important for their daily life. 13:00 hrs Without leaving the land of the Machiguenga ethnic family, in a typical building, we will have lunch with an indigenous dish from the jungle. 14:00 hrs Return to the lodge to rest and have free time to visit the boutique, cool off in the pool, have a cocktail at the bar or have a relaxing massage. 20:00 hrs: Dinner.
